Sea Ebony and Ziricote Cane

$1,200.00

A very special cane here, this piece is made using my rarest ebony species, which is even more special because of its super wild grain! The handle and top section of the shaft are “Sea ebony”, with a Latin name: Diospyros Maritima. I’ve only ever had one opportunity to buy this wood without ever seeing it again since. Its colors are similar to Mun ebony with various shades of brown, black lines, and a slight hue of green, but its also intermixed with beige forming a higher contrast grain. Combine these various colors with a wildly interwoven grain and its sure to produce amazing patterns as seen here. There are two dividers with centers of black Nigerian ebony with thin brass and lignum wood. The bottom 2/3rds of the shaft is Ziricote wood from the Yucatan Peninsula. Also a rare wood, visually similar to ebony but a little more of a greyish brown, still has black lines, but not as dark overall, with a handsome landscaped grain effect. Cane weight is Medium towards being heavy, good for daily use by most anyone. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
