Pernambuco and Wenge Cane

$500.00

This cane is an eye-catcher in both color and style! This handle is made from Pernambuco wood, a species that's endangered and very rare because it has been in high demand since Europeans discovered S. America. At first the wood was an important trade resource because it was used to make dye, in addition to violin bows, which it is still used for today. The wood was so important in its day that a region of Brazil was named after this wood. The shaft is wenge wood from the Congo and the divider is black palm from Indonesia. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
