Mulga and Imbuia Cane

$500.00

Here’s Heirloom quality, handmade cane with some beautiful and colorful pieces of exotic wood. Maybe its just me, but this cane gives me 1970’s vibes. The handle is an orangey piece of mulga wood from Australia, it has a light figure and shimmer, a nice looking piece of wood. Mulga is very dense and durable, its an arid region acacia species that the Aboriginal peoples used to use for their wooden weapons in times gone by. Mulga is little more than a shrub.

Its not often I make a cane where the more figured piece of wood is the shaft, but that’s true for this one. Its Imbuia from Brazil, also rare but overharvested, now protected. It’s a wild piece of wood with swirly grain, crinkle curls throughout, and contrasting colors. This piece would make a nice daily use cane. It’s cane weight is medium, could be used by most anyone. Total length measures 38” and can be shortened to fit.
