Garnet and Kingwood Stick
Garnet and Kingwood Stick
Here is an elegant walking stick with rich colors and rare materials. The stone top is made up entirely of garnet, lots of little gems formed over millions of years into a large matrix that could be carved into a sphere. The shaft is Brazilian kingwood, the second densest member of the Rosewood family, and quite a nice color too. It will actually gain color and become much more rich and darker purple as time progresses. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
This stick weighs in rather heavy, something to consider.
These stone-topped sticks that I make are lovely and functional walking aids. I do recommend a wrist strap be used with one though, or used with extra care, as a fall to a hard surface could damage the stone.
