Here is a statement piece that can hold 8 canes or walking sticks. Its made out of an exotic African hardwood called “wenge” from the Congo. Its been photographed in direct sunlight, so its apparent how naturally dark this wood is, inside out of the sun its a matte black look. As dark as this wood is, its a very course grained wood with a lot of texture, so its still full of interesting grain and tactile. The center post is connected to the top with a visible tenon joint that has been wedged with bright white camel bone - a beautiful visual of the piece’s fine woodworking. The bottom recesses are lined with black leather for a nice look and feel. Finally, its hand rubbed with natural linseed oil that penetrates, seals, and protects the wood; it has a very soft feel and luster look.
