One of my most commonly asked after woods is Australian Buloke wood, and this is a solid Buloke cane with a figured Buloke handle. Buloke is known for being the hardest wood in the world, something that is measured on a scale called the “janka scale” which measures the amount of force it takes to indent the wood to a certain depth with a steel sphere. Buloke is over 5000 lbs of force. The 3rd to last image is a sample Janka scale to compare with some well known woods, Buloke would be off this chart. Unfortunately I’ve never seek a Janka chart that shows all wood species - it would be long.

Technical stuff aside, a very functional cane and a good self defense cane too. I have a very hard time sourcing Buloke wood, especially long lengths for the shafts. It’s a protected species and all of the material I do get is salvage harvested. Despite its hardness Buloke is not as heavy as other woods I use, that being said this is still a heavy cane - just not the heaviest. Its length measures 38” and can be shortened to fit.
