Blackwood and Bocote Sickle Cane
Blackwood and Bocote Sickle Cane
This heirloom quality cane features two beautiful exotic hardwoods. The handle in my sickle shape is African Blackwood, the densest and darkest member of the rosewood family of species. African blackwood is very dark like ebony, but not black; in fact African blackwood is chatoyant but you'll need a bright light or the sun to see this wood come alive. The divider is brass with two layers of a unique material called "gold leaf carbon fiber". The shaft is Mexican Bocote wood - a unique looking species with black and yellow grain that forms cool patterns. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
Last images are of the Blackwood tree (locals call it Mpingo), in natural habitat.
