The Honduran Stick
The Honduran Stick
Easily a favorite piece, this stick is filled with incredible, rare materials and intricate natural designs. All of the wood is from Honduras, the handle is Honduran Rosewood burl and the shaft is figured Honduran Mahogany. Any rosewood burl is like a holy grail wood, and this sample is beyond rare for its amazing grain and beauty, it is also a big piece for something so rare. The Honduran mahogany shaft has a wonderful flame figure and fantastic chatoyance, it has been hand carved into a spiral. This Honduran mahogany is old growth stock that we purchased from the personal collection of a retiring artist several years ago, materials like these are a thing of the past. It doesn't stop there, an eye-catching divider is made of ancient whale vertebrae from the North Sea, very cool looking. A brass ferrule with rubber tip and steel spike (interchangeable) finishes the bottom for a total length of 38" and is not adjustable on account of the ferrule. This stick would make a comfortable and sturdy companion.
