Bois De Rose and Dinosaur Bone Stick
Bois De Rose and Dinosaur Bone Stick
I envisioned this walking stick several years ago and simply didn't have the courage for a long time. It's Bois de rose, a gorgeous, maroon red/purple colored rosewood from Madagascar. This species is very rare and any materials available are decades old. The Dalbergia Maritima tree (Bois de Rose's Latin scientific name) is nearly extinct in its natural habitat and highly protected. The top of the stick is adorned with a piece of fossilized Dinosaur bone from Utah. Millions of years have turned this bone into agate and it has taken on a dark purply color very similar to the rosewood - a perfect fit. Upon close inspection the dinosaur bone's cell structure is clearly visible. Divider and accents on this piece are African blackwood and aluminum. The stick is a travel style piece that unscrews into three pieces for compactness. Total length measures 38” and can not be adjusted.
