Rosewood and Dinosaur Bone Cane
Rosewood and Dinosaur Bone Cane
This heirloom quality lapidary cane has a handle of African Blackwood, the densest and darkest member of the rosewood family of species. African blackwood is very dark like ebony, but not black; in fact African blackwood is chatoyant but you'll need a bright light or the sun to see this wood come alive. The shaft is another coveted rosewood, its Cocobolo from Mexico with a wonderful red color. Along with brass accents, the handle is decorated with fossilized dinosaur bone - that's right, bone from a dinosaur that lived 150 million years ago around what is today Utah. Its technically no longer bone, but has been fossilized into agate, but the replacement fossilization process preserved the original cell structure of the bone. Really cool stuff! Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
