Tasmanian Myrtle Burl Curl Cane
This lovely cane is handmade using is Myrtle burl from Tasmania. Burl is always a rare form of figured wood, very few trees grow burls, and the trees must be very old for the burl to grow large enough to be useful for woodcraft. This particular myrtle burl was salvage harvested from the Tarkine rainforest and it's old growth material. The divider has copper metal and a centerpiece of curl figured Tasmanian blackwood sapwood. Its finished off with shaft of highly chatoyant African mahogany wood. A light weight cane. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
