Rosewood Burl Cane with Ebony
Rosewood Burl Cane with Ebony
This museum-worthy cane has a rosewood burl handle from a super obscure species in the rosewood family, in the west it is only known by its Latin scientific name, which is: "Dalbergia Candenatensis". This special piece of wood isn't just rare, its gorgeous, with wonderful grain patterns and a host of colors. The darker lines match the mun ebony shaft and the lighter colors range from beiges to pinks and reds in the burl eyes. Also, something very interesting, this species is actually a vine, not a tree, and rarely grows large enough to be used for its wood. Its also dense and durable, as most of the best rosewoods are known to be. Copper in the divider complements the warmer colors in the burl eyes nicely. Finally, the mun ebony shaft is a rare wood in its own right, one of the rarest ebony species, endangered now and protected, this piece has black line figuring along its length making it a beautiful piece. Cane weight is a little more than medium, suitable for most anyone. Total length measures 38" and can be shortened to fit.
